Zantac Oral : Uses, Side Effects & Interactions
Zantac (Ranitidine) is used to cure stomach and intestinal ulcers and to prevent them from coming back after recovery. The use of this drug is also used for the treatment of stomach and throat (esophageal) problems (such as erosive esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease-GERD, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome). It works by reducing the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It relieves symptoms like cough, which do not go away, stomachache, heartburn and difficulty swallowing. Zantac belongs to a category of medicines known as H2 blockers.
How To Use Zantac
Directly take Zantac by mouth or by your doctor at the meal, usually daily or twice daily. This can be determined 4 times a day for some situations. If you are taking this medicine once a day, it is usually taken after the evening meal or before sleeping.
Measure the dose carefully using a measuring spoon or a special medication spoon available from your pharmacist. Do not use domestic spoon or you can not get the right dose.
The dose and length of treatment is based on your medical condition and medical reaction. In children, dose may also be based on body weight. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully. You can take other medicines (e.g, antacids) for your condition recommended by your doctor.

The symptoms of overdose may include difficulty in walking, severe dizziness / unconsciousness.
Do not share this medication with others.
Changes in lifestyle such as stress reduction programs, preventing smoking, limiting alcohol, and changes in diet (such as caffeine and avoiding some spices) can help this drug work better. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about lifestyle changes that can benefit you.

If you miss a dose, then as soon as you remember it, take it. If it is near the next dose time, then leave the thesis dose and set your normal dose. Do not double the dose to catch up.
