What is Miconazole?

Miconazole is an antifungal drug that fights infection due to fungus.

There is a pill between your check and gum to treat the candida (yeast) infection inside the Miconazole buckle mouth.

Miconazole buccal can also be used for medicines that are not listed in this drug guide.

Follow all the directions on your drug label and package. Tell each of your health care providers about all your medical conditions, allergies and all the medicines you use.

If you are allergic to miconazole (Monistat, Vusion, and others) or if you are allergic to milk protein then you should not use this medicine.

To ensure that Miconazole buckle is safe for you, ask your doctor if you have ever done it:

•  Liver disease; Or
•  An allergic reaction to antifungal medicine

It is not known whether this drug will harm a newborn baby. Ask your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant.

It is not known whether Miconazole prolapses in breast milk or if it can affect nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding.

Miconazole buccal is not approved for use by any person under the age of 16.

Miconazole side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have an allergic reaction: Hives; Trouble swallowing or breathing; Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Common side effects can include:
•  Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain;
•  Diarrhea;
•  head ache; Or
•  Changes in the sense of taste.

Miconazole Interaction

Avoid chewing gum, swing the liquid in your mouth, or avoid colliding on the tablet while brushing your teeth.

If this booklet is on the tablet’s side, avoid wearing upper teeth.

Tell your doctor about all your existing medicines and whatever you start or stop using, especially:

•  Phenytoin;
•  Insulin or oral diabetes medication;
•  A Blood Thinner – Warfarin, Coumadin, Jantoven; Or
•  ergot medication – dihydrrogotamine, ergotamine, ergonovine, methylergonovine.
This list is not complete. Other medicines can interact with Micronegol Buckal, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal products. Not all possible interactions are listed in this drug guide.

Miconazole Dosage

Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use this drug in large quantities or in small amounts or longer than recommended.

Normal dose of this drug is a tablet for 14 days each morning.

Brush your teeth before inserting a buckle tablet. Before handling the tablet, make sure your hands are dry.

Miconazole buccal tablet should be placed above your upper gum, just above your inner teeth. Incisor teeth are located on the right and left sides of your two front teeth.

Keep the tablet’s circular sides against your gum. To ensure that the tablet stays in place, close your mouth and slowly press your finger in favor of your cheeks.

Chew the chocolate tablet or do not swallow Leave it till next morning. Avoid touching or pressing a tablet while in place.

You can eat and drink normally when you have a tablet, but avoid chewing gum.

During the 6 hours before placing a buckle tablet in your mouth, if the tablet becomes loose, then try to put it back into place. If the tablet is not in place, throw it away and insert a new tablet. If you accidentally swallow a tablet within the first 6 hours of the time, drink a full glass of water and insert a new tablet.

After the first 6 hours, if a tablet is loose or you swallow it accidentally, do not insert a new tablet. Wait until a new tablet is inserted the next morning.

If any piece of tablet remains in your mouth the next morning, then rinse your mouth with water before using a new tablet.

Place a new tablet on the edge of your upper gum, which is contrary to the one you use the first day. Switch to the side of your mouth every morning while using a new tablet.

If your symptoms are not good, or if they get worse then contact your doctor.

Store the room at room temperature. Keep away from moisture and heat.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Leave Missed Dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make a missed dose.
