You do not get dehydrated when the weather changes, so keep drinking enough water. To stay active and healthy, children need to drink at least three liters of water throughout the day, but this is not followed properly and can therefore lead to dehydration. In the end it causes a problem like bad headaches.

Children have to go through stress and depression due to exam pressure, competition and sometimes family problems. Many children are unable to express their stress. Due to concealment, there is more pressure on his brain, which causes terrible pain. Nowadays children use mobile games, iPads, smart phones and technology devices very much, which can increase migraine.

In addition, migraine can increase among children due to changing environmental factors of the season and also due to other diseases. Children spend more time in front of the TV screen or computer which is very harmful because the brightness and flicker affects their vision.

How to Recognize a Migraine

Migraine can be easily detected and prevented. Headache is the main symptom. The remaining symptoms may be less like- unexplained nausea, abdominal pain etc. Apart from this, there are some symptoms in children, which parents should pay attention to, such as mood swings, sluggishness, sleeping habits, lack of food. If one of the parents has this problem, the child is more likely to have it. Tests for migraine such as blood test, EEG, neuroimaging tests are done to find out the cause of the headache.

Treatment of Migraine

Three types of methods are commonly used in the treatment of migraine. First acute treatment where drugs are used to relieve symptoms. Acute therapy reduces all symptoms before they become severe. Usually, if a child has an attack 3 to 4 times a month, a doctor should be consulted. Medications are not used in the treatment of severe migraine. In this treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, acupuncture, exercise and proper rest and diet are helpful in avoiding attack triggers.
