Uses

Gabapentin, sold under the brand name Neurontin among others. The use of gabapentin is done with other medicines to prevent and control the tour. It is also used to relieve nerve pain after the herpes (painful rashes due to an herpes rib infection) in adults. Gabapentin is known as an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug.

How to use Gabapentin

Read the medication guide and, if available, the patient information sheet is provided by your pharmacist before you start taking Gabapentin and every time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medicine with your doctor’s prescribed diet or without mouth. Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response. For children, the dose is also based on weight.

If you are taking a tablet and your doctor is instructing you to divide the tablet in half, then take another half-tablet on your next set dose. If they are not used within several days of dividing, then release half pills. If you are taking capsules, then they will swallow a lot of water.

Side Effects

Precautions

Missed Dose
