Uses

Ezetimibe is used with the following cholesterol / low fat diet and helps lower blood cholesterol. Ezetimibe can be used alone or with other medications (such as “statins” or fibrates). Ezetimibe works by reducing the amount of cholesterol your body absorbs from your diet. Reducing cholesterol can help prevent stroke and heart attack.

How to use Ezetimibe

If you start taking your ezetimibe and you receive a refill every time, then read the information leaflet available from your pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medicine guided by your doctor, usually once daily or without food.

Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response.

If bile acids are taking sequencer (such as cholestyramine, colestipol), then take asymmetry at least 2 hours or 4 hours after taking bile acid sequencer. These products can bind your body completely with the absorption of ezetimibe.

Take Ezetimibe regularly to get the most benefit of this. To help you remember, take it every day at the same time.

It is important to continue taking this medicine even if you feel OK. Most people with high cholesterol do not feel sick. You can take up to 2 weeks before receiving the full benefit of this drug.

Side Effects

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this drug because he or she has decided that your benefit is higher than the risk of side effects. Many people using this drug do not have serious side effects.

Ezetimibe can increase the risk of liver damage (when taken with a “statin”) or muscle damage occurs when a fibrate or “statin” is taken along. Precautions

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, then use it as you remember. If it is near the next dose time, then leave the missed dose and start your normal dose program again. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.

Until instructed to do so, do not flush the medicines under the toilet or drain them in the drain. When this period expires or is not required, leave this product appropriately. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company.
